Summit Consulting, LLC, drives decision-making through data analytics, econometrics, and full-service federal budget and financial support. Our mission is centered on delivering data-driven solutions to help make government effective and society just.
We are expanding our consulting team and have an opportunity for a full-time Budget Manager to support Federal program development, advisory services and support design, implementation, and continuous improvement in financial management to support client missions.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading a team dedicated to supporting budget and financial management process development, integration, and improvement, such as mapping budgetary workflows and identifying innovations to make our client's lives easier.
- Developing, researching, and improving business processes for a variety of federal loan and grant programs.
- Use data analytics and visualization to evaluate financial data, processes, and recommend solutions compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, including relevant Department of the Treasury and Office of Management and Budget financial management and budget guidance.
- Demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills to work effectively across various stakeholders in presentations, white papers and analysis, standard operating procedures, job aids, and other material.
- Developing and maintaining Microsoft 365 (Excel, Power BI, etc.) based automated tools to assist in tracking and projecting budgetary information.
- Documenting the technical details of your work clearly to facilitate collaboration with other team members and ensure quality control.
The ideal candidate will have:
- B.A., a master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant budget or financial management experience.
- Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office suite to develop products and manage knowledge, including budget and financial management policies, tools, and analysis including Word, Excel pivot tables and charts, and PowerPoint presentations for training and executive briefings.
- Experience applying OMB Circular A-11 and using OMB MAX applications for budget formulation, execution, and data calls.
- Demonstrated interest in Federal financial management, budget, accounting, and continuous process improvement.
- Financial certifications (CGFM, or similar) a plus.
- Previous credit experience and / or interest are also a plus.
