Maintenance Coordinator

Purpose: This position exists to support the Maintenance Manager to ensure timely repairs of day-to-day tasks are assigned to personnel with respect to time and material. The Coordinator utilizes experience of the job to dispatch work orders delivered digitally (or other means) to the maintenance technicians and provides a several week look ahead for planning purposes.

Essential Functions

Responsible for receiving all work orders for tasks on campus. Sort Work Orders requiring planning/project work to the Facilities Supervisor. Assigns technicians to reactive work orders based on criticality. Work with Maintenance & Facilities Supervisors to ensure effective use of staffing. Maintain up to date assignment and close out work orders and utilize planner/schedule Timely response to inter-office communications with, and external to, the department. Create look-ahead calendar based on Facility and Maintenance Supervisor’s planned work Provide monthly training to the team via slides/handouts/sit down meeting

Experience/ Knowledge

High school diploma or equivalent, plus related experience or knowledge. Forklift experience is desirable (Jayco training is required when forklift operation is required for position). Ability to work with Microsoft Office, especially Excel spreadsheets.

Necessary Skills & Abilities

Demonstrates analytical problem-solving skills while using good judgment and decision making processes to effectively problem solve. Ability to maintain a positive attitude through periods of adversity and disagreement. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with co-workers, management, customers and others to enhance organizational effectiveness and productivity. Ability to use & familiarize with a variety of hand and power tools, cutting equipment, testing tools. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Willingness to lead by example and demonstrate desirable professional behavior

Work Requirements

This position may require working in extremes in temperature & environment while performing moderately physical activity. Requires ability to occasionally travel between field locations. Regularly required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds. Must have the ability to meet and/or pass the minimum requirement on a mechanical test or have demonstrated mechanical aptitude through prior work experience. Must be knowledgeable in the safe use of hand and small power tools. Must pass color vision and color hue tests. Must be able to maintain good attendance. This position is a full-time position, which may require some flexibility in hours & days worked (including Saturdays as needed). Ability to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
