Principle Responsibilities

Provide therapeutic recreation.Plan, review and revise programs according to patient needs and professional trends in therapeutic recreation.Develop and teach treatment programs to meet patient needs. Examples may include Tai Chi Chih, goal setting, community groups, aquatics etc.Provide adequate supplies for patient treatment.Maintain safety of patient and staff.Clean and organize treatment space.Document patient treatment goals and progress.Provide leisure and community resources to patients. Coordinate interdisciplinary communication.Collaborate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and goal setting.Convey observations and changes to the team.Participate in problem solving with regard to treatment planning.Provide student education and evaluation.Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Recreational and Leisure studies with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation required 0 to 2 years in a clinical specialty area or completion of a student internship in comparable setting required Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists - National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification required American Red Cross Lifeguard training if position supports aquatic programs required
