PurposeStatement

Ensureproduction equipment infrastructure fixtures and all otherequipment is in good operating condition and well maintained interms of electrical issues. Conduct fault finding analysis andrepairs in the event of any malfunction.

Main Outputsand Responsibilities for thisPosition

Technical

• Assemble install test and maintain electricalor electronic wiring equipment appliances apparatus andfixtures
• Perform rigging activities (bephysically capable of performing work from ladders scaffolds androofs)
• Identify report and rectify alltechnical areas of concern on electrical equipment appliancesapparatus and fixtures
• Perform duties in awork environment that will be hot cold dirty andfastpaced

Have an indepth understandingof

• Electrical principles anddrawings
• DC AC single phase 2phase 3phase 230V380V and industrialtroubleshooting
• safetyrelated and otherelectrical functions
• diagnosing malfunctioningelectrical systems apparatus components and continuity of circuitsusing
• testequipment
• ohmmeter
• ammeter
• voltmeter
• oscilloscope/
• hand tools

• systematicalapproach in locating the cause of a breakdown and correct theproblem
• connecting of wires to circuitbreakers transformers or other components.
• observing and following all safety regulationsand use of required PPE.
• programming ofvariable frequency drives (VFD)
• compatibilityand safety of systems

Have a good understandingof

• Processesutilized (e.g. material feeding and drying injection mouldingreheat stretch blow moulding and injection blowmoulding)
• all equipmentutilized
• Technical principles and drawings(e.g. assemblies and spare part finding pneumatichydraulic)
• safe and proficient use of work shoptools (both hand and power)

Fault analysis and problemsolving

• Independently do fault analysis and problemsolving in case of (teamwork asneeded)
• malfunctioning electrical components
• machine malfunction in terms of electricalissues
• Recognize and report problems to SeniorElectrician

Maintenance

• Ensure maintenance is done at requiredintervals according to the plans
• Spares
• Identify electrical / electronic sparesneeded for equipment

Ingeneral

• As a preventative measure identified duringmaintenance checks

Administration(job)

• Log jobs performed
• Contact external suppliers as agreed with Senior Electrician toassist in solving problems (quotes on service spare partsetc.)

Spares

• Have an overview of existing stock forequipment
• Spare part analysis ( keep stock vs.source at breakdown)
• Likelihood ofwear/breakage vs. cost vs. delivery time
• reportparts needed to Senior Electrician and assist in decision to haveon stock or source at breakdown
• Assist SeniorElectrician in ordering process (e.g. prepare documents follow upon orders)
• Plan for the year ahead assistSenior Electrician with work on budget formaintenance

Health &Safety

• Ensure and enforce that aspects in area ofresponsibility conform to Health and safetyrequirements.
• Maintain housekeeping standardsin area of responsibility (e.g. ensure cleanliness of technicalareas stores workshops and machines).
• Worksafely and report on safety hazards orissues.

Food(Product) Safety:

• Food safety standardsare site specific and at these sites employees should:
• Apply the sites food safety principles andstandards.
• Report any food safety hazards orissues to your Supervisor/Manager.
• Comply toand maintain all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) in relation tothe Companys FSMS (Food Safety ManagementSystem).

• TertiaryEducation (including Diplomas Certificates andDegrees) Minimum N2 in electrical trade theory and trade tested
• Experience 5years experience
