Direct Support Professional

The Direct Support Professional is responsible for safety and supervision of our consumers with Behavioral health histories. This role supports our consumers to develop healthy and socially acceptable behaviors while living in community-based sites. This position will coordinate with clinical staff, implement residential-based intervention, and assist the clients in achieving their clinical goals. The DSP is responsible for fulfilling the obligations as outlined in the client’s program plan. The DSP will prompt or assist, as necessary, to ensure the clients participate in the activities of daily living, both in the home and the community. A commitment to the RHD values should be demonstrated as job duties are performed.
Job Responsibilities:
This direct Support Professional role will be employed by Haldeman-Grant, a program within RHD. Haldeman-Grant is a residential program that provides the services needed for an individual to maintain independence in the community around them. Haldeman-Grant support’s individuals who are Aging In Place and require support, medically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. Haldeman-Grant fosters a nurturing atmosphere of trust, support, independence, and safety. It is a program that facilitates growth by building trust between the staff and the program participants. Support services, at Haldeman-Grant, are person-centered and bi-lateral with an equal exchange between the participant and staff. The focus remains on wellness and recovery.
Open Position: Part-Time, Saturday 7am - 3pm; Sunday 3pm - 11pm
Requirements High School diploma or GED is required, associates or bachelor’s degree is preferred Basic computer and internet literacy with the ability to utilize applications like emails, time recording and other programs to enter and retrieve data as necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. If the position being applied to reports out of Philadelphia PA: RHD employees working in programs within the City of Philadelphia are required to provide proof of Covid vaccination. If not fully vaccinated, they must receive at least one shot in a two -dose series or a single dose in a one-dose series before beginning in-person shifts. Final doses must be received within 8 weeks of hire. RHD’s vaccine requirements for the Corporate Office located at Wissahickon Avenue; Suite , Building A. Philadelphia, PA: The Corporate Office is not a service location. Therefore, RHD has determined that vaccinations are not required to work out of or to visit the office. As a reminder and as stated in prior communication, vaccinations are required for those who visit or work in Philadelphia programs and/or service locations.
