Optum Shoreline, part of Optum, has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented Patient Care Coordinatorto join our team. The Patient Care Coordinatoris responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical, and service goals.

The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for general clinic office functions that support efficient and effective patient care including patient registration, insurance verification, collection of applicable co-insurance and/or co-payments and scheduling of diagnostic and follow-up appointments and answering phones.

Schedule: Wednesday (8am-7pm), Thursday (7am-7pm), Friday (7am-7pm), Saturday (8am-12:30pm)

Location: N th Street, Shoreline, WA . May be required to support other sites, as needed. 

Primary Responsibilities:

Greet customers into the practice and provide instruction and/or direction as necessary both on the phone and in personSchedule and coordinate all patient appointments as directedMaintain an organized and clean work area, free of clutterPrepare all documentation and records with accuracy as directed or necessary for the patient’s careMeet or exceed the performance measures established by the Practice Management Dept.Order and maintain the inventory, and stock in the area according to the policies and procedures established by the Practice Management Dept. and Central SupplyFollow establish policy and procedures related to the positionParticipate and contribute in a team-based environmentMaintain a team supportive attendance recordUnderstand and deliver quality customer service that is consistent with the Polyclinic’s efforts in becoming a High-Performance OrganizationFollow OSHA/WISHA (including usage of PPE) guidelinesFollow HIPAA regulationsAdapt and perform effectively in a continuously changing environment, and in occasional difficult situations

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED (or higher) 1+ years of customer service experience with strong communication skills both in person and via phone6+ months of experience working in a medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records6+ months of EPIC experience 

Preferred Qualifications:

1+ years of Microsoft Office experience1+ years of experience working in a medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical recordsExperience working in the healthcare industryKnowledge of medications and medical terminology
