A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN OUTREACH & CERTIFICATION SPECIALIST

As an Outreach & Certification Specialist, you will have a rewarding job doing the following:

  • Conducts thorough assessments for prospective foster parents, involving home visits, interviews, and evaluations of compatibility with Boys & Girls Aid's foster care programs. Decides on the ability of foster parents to offer a stable, safe, and nurturing home for youth in foster care.
  • Maintains relationships with individuals, families, and community entities to ensure visibility for our foster care programs.
  • Represents Boys & Girls Aid in the community at events and outreach activities.
  • Works with an exceptional team of professionals focused on making an impact for children living in the foster care system.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN OUTREACH & CERTIFICATION SPECIALIST

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus two years of relevant experience
  • Experience with community outreach, training, and formal presentations is a plus, and having prior experience working with at-risk children will be especially beneficial in effectively communicating the importance of fostering to prospective foster parents.
