JOB TITLE: Senior Accountant

SUMMARY: This position reports to the Assistant Controller and will be responsible for supporting the close process and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. In addition, the Senior Accountant will assist the Finance organization with special projects and analyses. The successful candidate should possess strong analytical and time management skills.

OBJECTIVES:

Ensure timely reporting of financial results through involvement in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processesConfirm accuracy of reported balances through completion and/or review of account reconciliationsDocument, assess and implement best practices for accounting policies and procedures

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare and/or review journal entries including standard entries, reclassifications / adjustments, accruals, allocations, and intercompany transactionsComplete account reconciliations and analyze general ledger activity, including both Balance Sheet and Income Statement accountsResponsible for recording various financial transactions including prepaid assets, accrued liabilities, and customer / vendor rebates Assist in preparation/maintenance of monthly and quarterly reporting and analytics Support external auditors to facilitate annual auditsParticipate in department and organization special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as requiredCommitment to continuously improve the automation of accounting and reporting processes

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting or a related field Minimum of 3-5 years of financial accounting experience CPA designation preferred, but not required Solid PC skills, including Microsoft Excel and WordPrevious Oracle experience a plus, but not requiredStrong technical, interpersonal, and time management skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
