Vaco is hiring for a Payroll Supervisor opportunity in the Red Wing MN area. This is a direct hire position 
 Key Responsibilities:
  1. Payroll Processing:

    • Supervise and oversee the preparation and processing of payroll for all employees.
    • Ensure accuracy of employee pay, including wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and taxes.
    • Manage payroll schedules, deadlines, and periodic reporting.
  2. Compliance & Auditing:

    • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local tax regulations and labor laws.
    • Conduct regular audits of payroll systems and data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • Prepare and file required tax reports and documentation (e.g., W-2s, 1099s).
  3. Systems Management:

    • Oversee the payroll software system, ensuring it operates efficiently.
    • Collaborate with IT and HR departments to implement system updates or troubleshoot issues.
    • Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline payroll operations.
  4. Team Supervision:

    • Lead, train, and mentor payroll staff to enhance performance and productivity.
    • Delegate tasks and ensure team adherence to company policies and procedures.
    • Provide guidance on complex payroll issues and resolve escalated concerns.
  5. Employee Support:

    • Address payroll inquiries and concerns from employees in a timely and professional manner.
    • Communicate changes in payroll policies and procedures to staff.
    • Ensure employee records, timekeeping, and benefits information are accurately maintained.
  6. Reporting & Analysis:

    • Generate detailed payroll reports for management, including labor costs, payroll trends, and variances.
    • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to align payroll with organizational objectives and budgeting.
Qualifications:
  1. Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  2. Experience:

    • 3+ years of payroll experience, with 1+ years in a supervisory or management role.
    • Strong knowledge of payroll software systems (e.g., ADP, UKG, Paycom, or similar).
    • Experience with multi-state payroll processing is a plus.
  3. Skills:

    • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
    • Proficiency in payroll and accounting software systems.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  4. Certifications (Preferred):

    • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
    • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)
