Job Overview

The purpose of this position is to prepare food and deliver culinary experience based on pre-defined expectations, maximizing guest satisfaction and profitability in accordance with company policies, presentations standards and pre-established menus. The Catering Cook is responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, the Catering Cook is expected to be attentive to our  guest needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.

 

Catering Cook will follow through with the proper and timely set-up and execution of banquet events. As the Catering Cook you will be responsible for maintaining a healthy and safe work environment for all fellow employees and our guest.

 

General Responsibilities

  • Greet any guests you come across with a smile
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) at the beginning of each shift to ensure catering venues are prepared contracted.
  • Keep all equipment and work areas clean and safe and in proper working order at all times.
  • Be in communication with the lead Catering Culinary Supervisor regarding any special needs.
  • Prepare all food items in accordance with established recipe and quality standards in a timely manner.
  • Pass any information that is needed to the next staff member on duty.
  • Inspects the cleanliness of all kitchen work stations, tools, equipment and supplies and ensures the proper food handling techniques are being followed.
  • Ensure the proper back up in the event that any equipment is not properly functioning.
  • Ensures that the resort cost control policies and procedures are being adhered to.
  • Assist with kitchen inventories on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis.
  • Assist with ensuring the food is ready to be served in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
  • The Catering Cook will be moved to different culinary stations in the kitchen and in the park depending on the volume and business needs.
  • Listen to customer feedback and ensure that the guests leave satisfied.
  • Communicate with the Catering Culinary Supervisor on a daily basis.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.

 

Job Qualifications

Education:

·        High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experienced/Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years kitchen experience
  • Knowledge of food ordering systems
  • Excellent oral communication skills required.
  • Positive interpersonal skills required.
  • Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects.

 License/Qualifications:

·        Serve Safe certified (Optional)

Discretion / Independent Judgement

This  position does represent the company in handling complaints, arbitrating disputes or resolving grievances, as a Catering Chef  you will be expected to work with guests to ensure satisfaction. A Server/Bartender will have to take initiative and get creative in resolving guest challenges until that person does not feel that they can handle a certain situation and then they will make a supervisor aware. Any and all guest issues must be made aware to the Catering Manager.

  • Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.
