Primary Duties

 

The Senior Business Analyst – Collaboration, is an energetic agile BA that is responsible for providing business analysis services, and end-user support within an Agile framework for the IT Collaboration Services Team. The candidate will work closely with the Associate Director of Collaboration Services (Product Owner and Team Lead), the development team, and stakeholders to design, plan and implement solutions and services to address business needs by improving and automating business processes within organizational units, teams, and departments. The Senior Business Analyst - Collaboration is a crucial team member and plays a vital role in the Collaboration Services Team’s success. The Collaboration Services Team is both an operations team and multi-product development team that provides end-user support and custom applications using Microsoft Technologies and Microsoft’s Power Platform.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Working with the business stakeholders or other IT partners, to explore opportunities, review and analyze new project requests, deliver enhancements to existing solutions and capture needs and requirements.
  • Document requirements, create epics and stories and continuously maintain the backlog and associated artifacts with the help of the Associate Director of Collaboration Services and the implementation team.
  • Discuss requirements and available options with the collaboration team and negotiate features and deliverables with the business owners based on complexity vs. value. Organize and agree on upcoming releases.
  • Help the team perform continuous prioritization and re-prioritization based on the short-term vs. long-term business needs and requests.
  • Work with the team to design the best solution based on the technologies required and the team’s capabilities.
  • Validate the design and solutions against the requirements and end user expectations.
  • Gain familiarity with the technologies that are supported by the Collaboration Services Team (SharePoint, MS Teams, Zoom, 365 Apps, Power Platform tools) and provide administration or end-user support where necessary. Familiarity with the products will contribute to the ability to design better solutions.
  • Assist in facilitating agile style stand-ups and direct the topics and prioritization of refinement meetings and working sessions.
  • Work closely with the Associate Director of Collaboration Services to maintain and improve the agile framework and expand the team’s services and capabilities.

         

Education and Experience Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or relevant discipline and 4-5 years prior work experience.
  • The Business Analyst – Collaboration must have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. The ability to communicate effectively with all members of the team and stakeholders is essential. The candidate must be able to operate in a fast pace but rewarding environment. Must be able to work on multiple priorities in parallel.
  • The candidate must be able to interpret business requirements and translate them into technical requirements and be focused on delivering solutions that help the organization propel forward.
  • The candidate must be able to adapt in the team’s operational framework and have the desire to operate in the Agile methodology and principles.
  • Experience in Microsoft Collaboration Technologies is desirable (MS Teams, SharePoint, Office Tools)
  • Experience in delivering applications and solutions in the SDLC framework.

 

Spark takes into consideration a combination of candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, and external market and internal value when determining a salary for potential new employees. The base salary range for this position is currently from $93,000.00 to $139,400.00.
