About the Role:

As a Pre-Certified Locksmith, you will play a crucial role in installing, maintaining, and repairing a range of locking mechanisms and access systems throughout our university facilities. Your responsibilities will include:

Installation & Maintenance: Work with mechanical and electronic locks, hydraulic closing fixtures, and related hardware to ensure they function flawlessly. Key Management: Cut new and duplicate keys, maintain master key files, and manage records to uphold the highest standards of security. Access Control: Modify and update electronic access systems for university personnel and contractors, enhancing security and access efficiency. Inventory Management: Keep track of supplies and parts, ensuring a well-maintained inventory and accurate records of materials used. Repair & Programming: Assist with or handle repairs and programming of electronic access control systems and ADA door operators. Customer Service: Provide estimates, order materials, and deliver exceptional service to our university community, maintaining a high level of professionalism and flexibility.

Conditions of Employment Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job. Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check. Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement. Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED'; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications Proven ability to read, understand, and enforce safety procedures. Proficiency in personal computers and related software applications. Strong records maintenance skills. Experience with hand and power tools applicable to locksmithing. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Flexibility, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to handle a variety of tasks efficiently.
