The largest medical center on Kaua‘i, it is a state-of-the-art acute care facility with a full suite of services offering 30 specialties and programs, including cardiology, emergency, family practice, gastroenterology, health management, internal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and urology. Its 18-bed emergency department serves as the island’s Primary Stroke Center. The medical center also has four birthing suites, seven intensive care beds and 20 same-day surgery beds. Wilcox is the first American College of Surgeons-verified Level III Trauma Center in the state of Hawai‘i. Wilcox is part of Hawai‘i Pacific Health, one of the state’s leading health care systems and a not-for-profit health care organization with medical centers, clinics, physicians and other caregivers working together to create a healthier Hawai‘i.

As a non-profit organization, Wilcox Medical Center’s network of health care institutions are strongly committed to community outreach and education. We organize a number of events and workshops on a regular basis to educate the public about issues ranging from cardiovascular disease to cancer, diabetes, arthritis and the importance of maintaining healthy, active lifestyles. Our Community Partnerships and Events team ensures that these activities are well-organized and effective in connecting the organization to the community and promoting health education for Hawai‘i’s people.

In this role, you will be responsible for the management and coordination of Community Partnerships and Events for Wilcox Health. You will provide administrative, logistical, and programmatic support for Community Partnerships and Events. You will also develop and maintain relationships with strategic community partners. As the Coordinator, you will plan and conduct internal and external events. You will also collaborate with the system-wide Community Benefits team to plan and conduct community benefit activities aligned with HPH community health improvement priorities. In this role, you will represent Hawaii Pacific Health to the community. This position will juggle multiple tasks and develop relationships with businesses, individuals and organizations interested in partnering to support our activities and our mission to create a healthier Hawaii. We are looking for someone detail oriented, with excellent communication and organizational skills, who is able to work with others to find creative solutions to a desired goal.

Other information:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Community Development, Business Administration, Social Services, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. Valid Hawaii driver's license and auto insurance. Three (3) years of experience in community health work, community partnership development, events planning or related field.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working collaboratively with community groups, agencies, government entities, and the like. Knowledge of community issues.
