31 year established authentic Japanese restaurant seeking Kitchen / Sushi chef assistants with experience.
The ideal candidate(s) will have, at minimum, 1 year Japanese cuisine experience. Good work ethic and a desire to grow into our future restaurant locations. Will be working directly with the Executive Chef and other Master Sushi Chefs. Will mostly be working kitchen and sushi bar at the Roll station and share responsibility for maintaining quality control and complying with regulations. Will be working most days covering the kitchen but other days assigned to the sushi bar roll station.

Part-Time Position: Needed for at least 3 days per week and Sundays.  Potential for more days and pay

You will be responsible for assisting during prep and service including; receiving, fileting, portioning and prepping all kitchen meats, chicken, fish and produce, following prep lists, assisting in the production of sauces, garnishes, etc.,  ensuring dishes are consistently top quality according to our menu, and in general, assisting the team on day-to-day tasks as needed.
Great knife skills and experience preparing consistent high quality dishes in accordance with food health/safety regulations and restaurant standards are a must. You should also be able to customize orders according to written preferences and food allergy considerations.
The successful candidate is responsible, conscientious, reliable, punctual, organized, and in general a true professional able to maintain the highest restaurant standards at all times.
Note: must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
English Required- Japanese a definite plus.
This is a stable and safe work environment free from drama, drugs, and drunks. Most of the staff has been here for over 25 years.
Fujiya Japanese Restaurant DOES NOT have a fast paced, high stress workflow but does require professionalism, accuracy, cleanliness and teamwork.
