Overview

The GHD is currently seeking a Senior Integrated Health Advisor who will be responsible for supporting programming, technical solutions implementation, and new business efforts related to integrated health. The Senior Integrated Health Advisor will build partnerships in integrated health systems with key counterparts and support thought leadership efforts in the sector. The work will entail supporting a growing integrated portfolio of international development (including USAID-funded) projects and business development growth. The Advisor will support such efforts across GHD, including health systems strengthening, integrated care, malaria, and global health security as well as integration with sectors that include governance, financing, and climate/resilience. 

This role will report to the Director of Health Systems Portfolio and would be based in the United States (Washington DC or Research Triangle Park offices or remote). Other locations would be considered on case-by-case basis. This role will require international travel 25% of the time. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship.


Responsibilities

Technical Assistance and Project Management (30%)

In close collaboration with GHD leadership team, provide quality control program support, stepping in into leadership roles as needed. Provide technical assistance and/or technical leadership to global health projects, including field-based short-term technical assistance.  Contribute to the development and adaptation of existing technical approaches and tools.  Manage learning around integrated health programming, approaches, and best practices.  Manage complex donor-funded health programs, including oversight of project reports, budgets, and M&E plans. 

Proposal Development (30%)

Serves in a lead technical writer or proposal leader role for new business opportunities across integrated health areas including but not limited to integrated care, malaria, health systems strengthening, and global health security. Serves as a technical contributor for proposal solutioning, conceptualizing approaches, teaming strategies, partner negotiations. Contributes to business capture through engagement in capture trips; preparation of expressions of interest in response to client requests for information; inputs to develop technical content for marketing materials; new technologies and implementation approaches.

Networking and Collaboration (20%)

Establishes and nurtures collaborative working relationships with clients, strategic partners, subcontractors and stakeholders, and continually promotes outstanding client service and technical leadership. Establishes and nurtures collaborative relationships with the private sector and other key stakeholders in the integrated health space. Represents GHD/RTI at industry conferences, events, and meetings, speaking effectively to IDG's and RTI's broader institutional capabilities.  Actively builds and leverages professional networks to assist in recruitment of future team members.

Thought Leadership (10%)

Provide thought leadership through articles, blogs, and presentations to USAID, clients, and peer organizations.  Represent GHD/RTI at industry conferences, events, and meetings, speaking effectively to IDG's and RTI's broader institutional capabilities. Stay abreast of USAID headquarters and mission trends around health systems programming and advise the GHD leadership on these. 
Qualifications

Masters-level degree in Public Health or related field and at least 12 years of progressive relevant experience, particularly in program design, management, and implementation (or a Bachelor’s degree and 15 years of relevant experience). Minimum 8 years of professional experience in global health, with demonstrated experience leading or supporting USAID-funded health projects preferably related to health systems strengthening, integrated health, malaria, and/or global health security. Experience providing project management and administration for USAID-funded programming. Experience and demonstrated success in building capacity of emerging market counterparts and stakeholders. Experience in leading USAID business development efforts in the global health sector preferably as a lead technical writer or proposal leader. Proven ability to manage and support complex and geographically disparate portfolios in international development.  Experience working with diverse and multi-cultural teams.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Must have excellent listening skills and highly developed sense of responsibility and commitment to customer service and client relationships. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate complex information to multiple audiences working in the international development. Must be able to manage disparate tasks simultaneously and re-prioritize as necessary. Must work effectively under deadlines, both independently and as a team member. Proficiency in French preferred, other language proficiency (Spanish and/or Portuguese or other) a plus.  Ability to travel internationally for extended periods as needed.
