Overview

Nakupuna Consulting is looking for an Inventory purpose of this position is to be a member of a contract support team providing material management and logistics support for newly acquired 5G enabled smart warehouse technologies at the Fleet Logistics Center San Diego’s NAS North Island warehouse. This initiative will work to ensure parts inventories are accurately accounted for and available during the integration of 5G enabled technologies.

Responsibilities

The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign additional duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.

Specific duties include:

Re-warehousing of inventory from old locations to new locations or smart storage technology. Perform identification, optimization, sorting, and relabeling of all inventory with Navy-ERP and RFID tags. Perform and record RFID inventory on hand, by location after each warehousing action. Perform data entries into Navy ERP, databases, and/or spreadsheets. Perform necessary reconciliations for work performed, of databases, research and investigation of frustrated or unaccounted RFID tagged materials or documents. Participate in smart warehouse technology training events Store and file supporting documentation as a result of RFID warehousing actions. Perform scheduled and spot inventory counts of all RFID tagged assets. Perform preliminary and causative research for discrepant inventory counts. Conduct ad-hoc research as necessary to promote high inventory accuracy standards. Monitor inventory data within the RFID repository to ensure quantities in physical locations match quantities in system locations. Submit listings of RFID inventory discrepancies IAW the DoDM 4140.01-V1 and NAVSUP publications. Interact with site employees to understand their internal location of inventory, including assets not found but reported, assets reported but not found, and the condition code variances especially between Ready for Issue (RFI)/Non-Ready for Issue (NRFI) (different valuations). Assist NAVSUP FLCs to maintain operational inventory validity at a minimum of 98% on accounts, in accordance with the site’s inventory plan. Participate in site-specific meetings that drive towards progress to plan. Keep Nakupuna project leadership team abreast of any issues of potential impact to achievement of contract deliverables or accomplishment of client mission. Ensure compliance with company quality standards and on-the-job safety requirements.

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications: Requires experience in a DoD warehouse environment, to include knowledge of inventory control processes. Must be self-motivated, have strong attention to detail, good oral and written communication skills. Must be in good physical condition and can occasionally travel. Must have valid state-issued vehicle operator’s license and a valid license to operate MHE (up to 6K forklift) - MHE operator must possess a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate or proof of a current medical examination document on their license.

Physical Requirements:

Frequently lift and/or move parts up to 25lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move parts up to 50lbs. Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for the majority of working hours. Ability to climb/scale ladders and/or manlifts in order to inventory parts on elevated shelves. Frequently bend, stretch, twist, or reach out. Frequently use arms, hands, and fingers to grasp, move, package, and count very small objects. Occasionally able to carry items up to 20lbs for up to 100ft. Execute the physical tasks above in warehouses that may not be environmentally controlled (warehouse dependent).

Education and Experience: The following are desirable levels of experience:

Two (2) years’ experience in DOD or commercial services logistics, performing inventory analytical and physical work. Experience with the Navy supply system is desirable. Experience utilizing relational databases to manage performance and operations and execute system transactions corresponding with physical warehouse movements. Ability to leverage computer spreadsheets, databases, handheld devices, and or other automated inventory technology. Ability to perform causative research by mining data, pulling records, and communication with government stakeholders.

Military Installation Access: This position resides on a military installation. Must be able to qualify for and obtain a base access pass. Must be able to obtain a favorable National Security Agency Check (NACI) including a FBI fingerprint check. Active SECRET clearance and/or a current Common Access Card (CAC) desirable. Must be a .
