System Freight, Inc., a leader in direct-to-store deliveries and fleet outsourcing services, is looking for a dedicated CDL-A Local Driver to join our team. As a pivotal part of our operations, you will be primarily responsible for conducting local deliveries, ensuring that goods are transported promptly and safely to their destinations within the Northeastern United States. This position is tailored for individuals who are passionate about efficient logistical operations and possess a strong track record in truck driving. Safely operating a tractor-trailer or other large truck to transport goods to various local destinations. Carrying out routine vehicle checks and maintenance prior to departure. Ensuring compliance with all federal and state truck driving rules and regulations. Loading and unloading cargo while ensuring securement according to company policies and safety standards. Reporting any incidents, accidents, or delivery issues encountered on the road promptly. Keeping accurate records of deliveries, including times, mileage, and fuel consumption. Proficient in operating a commercial heavy vehicle. Knowledge of electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.). Ability to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.). Excellent time management to meet scheduled pick-up and delivery times. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
