Apply now and become a part of our exciting journeyJob Summary:The Observerwill perform observation for activities around live railroad tracks and are responsible for job site coordination, dispatcher/train communication and ensuring all work being conducted is being done so in a manner that will not foul or effect the tracks in anyway.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Provide the required jobsite protection on each assignment, error free and consistent with the rules; including but not limited to radio communication with train dispatchers and engineersPerform daily job briefings with all personnel on-site,ensuringcompliance with railroadsafety requirementsPrepare and submit required electronic forms, including but not limited to: job set-up forms for each flagging assignment, daily work reports, invoices, and other reports as requiredActively participate in routine reoccurring safety classes and qualification trainingMaintain high levels of communication with the RWIC supervisors and managers regarding various assignments and schedulesEnsure all work is conducted out of the foul of the tracksContribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture, free from behaviors that undermine morale, productivity, or organizational valuesUphold the organization's standards of integrity, accountability, and respect in all duties and interactionsAdhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulationsOther duties assigned or required to meet their business needsQualificationsKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Able to complete required physical demands and/or taskProficient in the radio procedure for communicationProficient in performingjob briefings with all the roadway workers within their work locationProficiency with electronic communications including e-mail and text as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)Required Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent (GED)A minimum of 2 years in track and/or construction experienceEmployment is contingent upon the successful outcome of pre-employment and recurring background checks, and drug and alcohol testing, as well as classroom and field training, including assessments.
