We are a leading provider of fire protection systems, with a rich history spanning over 30 years in the industry.The Design Engineer is responsible for creating fire protection systems, ensuring quality and compliance throughout the process, and collaborating with project management and the sales team.What you receive:An exciting opportunity where innovation meets impactCompetitive salary.Full benefit package including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and other insurance products as well as a 401k plan with match, PTO and holiday pay.Design Engineer Responsibilities:Design commercial fire sprinkler systems in a wide range of industriesPerform hydraulic calculations for designed projectsUse CAD in the design of fire protection systemsCollaborate with cross-functional teams such as sales, purchasing, fabrication, installation, and service to ensure water-based fire sprinkler system designs meet customer needs, quality, safety standards, and project timelinesCoordinate with engineers, contractors, and AJH's independentlyEnsure design adheres to state and local standards for the design of water-based fire sprinkler systemsConduct construction site review/survey on buildings if needed.Submit plans to General Contractors/owners and follow specifications.Finalize fabrication techniques with the appropriate stakeholdersComplete final shop drawings showing all pertinent informationGenerate materials lists for completed designsCompile the foreman's pack, including all necessary forms and paperwork.Process all necessary close-out documentsDesign Engineer Qualifications:3+ years of current fire sprinkler design experienceNICET certification preferredStrong knowledge of all NFPA standards 13, 13R, 13D, 14, 20, and 25Understand of code compliance and local AHJ requirements for standard systemsIdeally recent experience designing in AutoSPRINKApply mathematical concepts, such as geometry, fractions, and measuringRead and interpret documents, such as blueprints, codes, standards, specifications, safety rules, and operating and maintenance instructionsAnalytical and critical thinking skillsCommunicate effectively in-person and electronicallyTime management and organizational skillsProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteIf you are a motivated individual with a passion for precision, please apply here.
