Known for our bold flavors, warm hospitality, and commitment to quality, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team.This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with our Executive Chef to help lead day-to-day kitchen operations, ensure high standards, and contribute to the continued evolution of our menu and kitchen culture.What You'll Do:Collaborate directly with our Executive Chef to execute daily service for BOH and preparation throughout the day, maintaining accurate and reasonable timelines and work schedule for cooks and prep teamOversee kitchen catering and production teamOversee food production to include grab and go items and cateringDemonstrate expertise in various cooking techniques and maintain consistent quality across every dishCommunicate effectively to perform and follow job requirements in written and spoken directionsTrain and mentor junior chefs and kitchen assistants, fostering a positive work environment, motivating kitchen staff, and providing constructive feedback to staffDevelop and maintain an inventory of food and supplies, prepare lists, and place ordersReact quickly and effectively to unplanned operational needs, while remaining calm under pressureMaintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations, with assistance in walk-ins and dry storageMotivate, lead, and delegate tasks to the kitchen team to ensure smooth kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive ChefWhat We're Looking For 4+ years of professional kitchen experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.Can effectively work 10-12 hour shifts, including weekends and holidays (if needed)Strong culinary skills and a passion for Mediterranean cuisineCalm, organized, and solutions-oriented — especially under pressureAbility to give and receive feedback in a constructive, respectful mannerStrong communication skills and a team-first mentalityServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain)Why Join AmouraBe part of a tight-knit, family-run operation with a commitment to excellenceWork under a dedicated Executive Chef who values creativity, mentorship, and collaborationGrow with a business that operates both a full-service restaurant and a fast-casual concept at SFOCompetitive compensation, opportunity for advancement, and a supportive team culture.
