Engagement Details
As a contract Project Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams from kickoff to delivery. You will maintain a clear scope, schedule, and responsibilities, ensuring work stays aligned with goals. You will improve project processes, coordinate with stakeholders at all levels, and support data-driven decisions. Familiarity with instructional design, eLearning technology, and product development will help you collaborate effectively and succeed in the role.
This is a remote, part-time, hourly, 1099 independent contractor role.
Contractors can expect to contribute approximately 25 or more hours per week. This includes participation in essential coordination meetings held during standard business hours. Contractors have autonomy in managing their work schedule, provided that deadlines, quality standards, and agreed-upon deliverables are met.
Scope of Work
- Develop, refine, and manage standardized project frameworks, templates, and workflows to enhance consistency and efficiency across teams.
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment among project sponsors, stakeholders, and team members to deliver project outcomes.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts to translate business into clear project scopes, success criteria, and timelines.
- Oversee project execution in Asana (or equivalent tools), supporting transparency in deliverables, milestones, risks, and dependencies.
- Establish and maintain robust communication channels: facilitate regular status meetings, prepare and publish concise reports, and solicit feedback to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
- Facilitate cross-functional reviews to ensure integration across instructional design, creative, technology, and other workstreams.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, escalating issues when necessary to maintain the schedule, budget, and quality targets.
- Adapt methodologies to project or partner-specific contexts, balancing speed, quality, and relationship impact.
- Lead continuous improvement within projects by analyzing project performance metrics, capturing lessons learned, and recommending process enhancements.
- Engage Partner Success counterparts to align on agreements and escalate partnership-related concerns as needed.
- Provide guidance to Project Coordinators to strengthen project delivery capacity.
- Contribute to PMO-led initiatives and special projects that support broader operational objectives.
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Instructional Technology, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of project management experience, ideally within a matrix organization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through influence, building consensus without direct authority.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing project processes and governance structures.
- Proficiency with Asana or similar project management platforms, including experience setting up dashboards and reporting metrics.
- Basic familiarity with instructional design principles and eLearning technology concepts to partner with teams effectively.
- Excellent stakeholder management with the skills to adapt communication style for executives, leaders, peers, and technical contributors.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to drive decisions and optimize schedules and workflows.
- Skilled at problem-solving, conflict resolution, and navigating complex organizational dynamics.
