Our Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) division's Air Traffic Services – Systems Engineering Department (ATS-SED) has an immediate career-development opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer to support the Hardware (HW) and Software (SW) Configuration Management (CM) and Data Management (DM) teams working with ATS systems, including Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS), a safety-of-life air traffic management system controlling civil and military aviation that is the cornerstone of the FAA's automation modernization drive at hundreds of locations in the US.
This is an opportunity to leverage and expand a wide skill set on the central team supporting the product infrastructure, systems and applications utilized by the CM and DM teams, including COTS tools, custom-developed electronic workflows, data interchange functions and database procedures.
This position is based in Marlborough, Massachusetts but working remotely is an option for the right candidate.
What you will do:
- Manage fully functional test and production environments of multiple systems and applications
- Perform and validate COTS application and middleware upgrades in compliance with Raytheon cybersecurity requirements
- Author and upgrade System Authorization Packages (SAPs) for the test and production environments, to maintain Authorization To Operate (ATO) approval
- Support the CM and DM teams in the management of program data within COTS applications and helping them maintain the highest possible level of data integrity
- Support tools and processes for CM and DM functions
- Support and maintain electronic workflows
- Support CM, DM and end user reports
Education & Experience you must have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Qualifications you must have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Software Engineering, including testing and debugging source code and scripts
- Minimum 3 years' experience or familiarity with Linux and Windows OS environments, tools and commands
- Experience with Oracle or MS-SQL databases using PL/SQL or T-SQL
- Experience in understanding technical documentation and functional requirements
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment requiring multi-level communication with other engineering disciplines, program management, and end users
Qualifications We Value:
- Willingness to become familiar with configuration and data management processes
- Experience supporting web servers, ie. Apache Tomcat or HTTPD
- Experience with commercial or open-source test and development tools and frameworks such as Eclipse and Jaspersoft Studio
- Experience with data transfer processes such as sftp, and inter-server connectivity using ssh
- Knowledge of or familiarity with web server SSL certificate generation
- Knowledge of or familiarity with Perl, html, bash/ksh and MS Windows .bat scripting
- Familiarity with Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) using a platform similar to Flowable
- Willingness to learn new COTS tools, processes and methodologies
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external customers

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
