Staff Software Engineer

What you can expect

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer with solid Java/JavaEE, Spring, and Angular skills to design and build scalable, high-performance web applications. You'll work across the stack to deliver robust APIs, complex business logic, and seamless user experiences.

The ideal candidate brings deep backend expertise in Spring Boot, REST/GraphQL, and reactive programming, and collaborates effectively with stakeholders and engineers to develop and optimize mission-critical system.

About the Team

You'll be part of a high-impact team building intelligent systems. You'll combine traditional software engineering with emerging AI capabilities to transform the way users interact with applications. All this while collaborating cross-functionally with researchers, product managers, and engineering peers.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications using JavaEE, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
• Implementing robust RESTful APIs, GraphQL and messaging endpoints to serve front-end and backend enterprise intergrations with internal and external systems.
• Troubleshooting technical issues in real-time and work across teams to resolve them efficiently while enhancing system performance, resiliency and availability.
• Building dynamic, component-driven UI applications using React, TypeScript, HTML5, and SCSS.
• Designing, developing and optimizing SQL, NoSQL databases and data lakes for various use cases and data aggregation patterns.
• Developing automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and manage zero downtime production deployments.

What we're looking for

• Have a BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Have 8+ years of experience as a full stack developer with strong expertise in Java, JavaEE, and Spring Boot.
• Have a solid understanding of microservices architecture and experience with cloud-native stack (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS).
• Have strong experience with MongoDB, including schema design, aggregation pipelines, and indexing strategies.
• Possess proficiency in developing RESTful services and GraphQL APIs using Java and Spring
• Be proficient with Angular 10+, ReactJS, and component-based architecture.
• Have solid debugging and performance tuning skills across the full stack
• Have experience with reactive programming (e.g., Spring WebFlux). (Nice to Have)
• Possess knowledge of authentication/authorization frameworks (OAuth2, JWT, SAML). (Nice to Have)
• Have knowledge of testing frameworks like JUnit, TestNg and Playwright. (Nice to have)

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:

Minimum:

$124,000.00

Maximum:

$271,200.00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
