Job Description:
This job is responsible for leading and executing on internal control discipline and operational excellence within a Line of Business (LOB) or Enterprise Control Function (ECF). Key responsibilities include executing LOB or ECF processes and tools to drive adherence to enterprise-wide standards. Job expectations include supporting the implementation of quality assurance and quality control processes within the LOB or ECF through ongoing monitoring and testing of controls, identifying issues and control improvements for remediation, and building out actions plans and milestones.
Oversee Global Markets Ops cross-functional inter-affiliate, third party and resiliency programs ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and operational best practices and apply deep operational knowledge to drive outcomes and influence senior stakeholders challenging the individual LOBs outputs. Proactively step into ad hoc GMO Risk initiatives, bringing structure, clarity, and momentum where required. The role will also act as the Charlotte site lead for GMO Risk.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the assessment of the design and effectiveness of the risk and control environment to support Global Markets Ops and ensure adherence to enterprise-wide standards
- Performs monitoring and testing of controls, identifying issues and control improvements for remediation
- Leads the implementation of optimized controls and enhanced Quality Assurance (QA) practices to support business continuity efforts
- Manages the performance and productivity of team members that conduct quality inspection reviews
- Ensures timely execution of QA activities including control execution, case management, and results reporting
- Manages and reviews all operations front line unit responses for regulatory exams, internal audits, and other monitoring and inspection reviews
- Ensures accuracy of data and that relevant information is captured for inspection metrics to support governance for dashboard reporting
- Support ad hoc related GMO risk initiatives and improvement
- Act as the site lead for GMO Risk, as required
- Oversee cross-functional inter-affiliate, third party and resiliency programs ensuring operational best practices and consistent approach across GMO
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of leadership experience
- Broad exposure and understanding of processes across Global Operations and associated operational risks
- Proven experience in drafting communications and presentation materials intended for senior audiences
- Strong organizational, planning, communication (written and oral), and presentation skills with attention to detail
- Excellent project management skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Understanding of the Enterprise Process Management Policy
- Knowledge of GMO or similar operational organization and/or records management
- Ability to understand policy and regulatory requirements across different global jurisdictions
