Seattle, Washington, United States Cara Veterinary Full time

Director of Marketing

Hybrid – Seattle, WA (Office in Lower Queen Anne, clinics across the Puget Sound, and remote work to support the evolving business needs)

At Cara Veterinary, we're redefining what it means to care — for pets, their people, and the teams who support them. Our network of hospitals across the Pacific Northwest is built on connection, community, and a hospitality-driven approach that puts pets (and the people who love them) first.

We're looking for a Director of Marketing who's equal parts strategist and storyteller — someone who can blend creativity, data, and empathy to grow awareness, loyalty, and love for the Cara brand. This role is central to our next stage of growth and will shape how we connect with pet parents across Washington and beyond.

What You'll Do

  • Build and lead the strategy behind Cara's brand and marketing roadmap — from national storytelling to hyper-local engagement.
  • Develop and execute omni-channel campaigns (digital, social, email, SEO/SEM, events, and community outreach) that drive awareness, acquisition, and retention.
  • Partner with hospital leaders to design local marketing initiatives that strengthen neighborhood connections and highlight each hospital's unique personality.
  • Lead new hospital launch marketing — from pre-opening buzz to ongoing community engagement.
  • Manage agency partners and vendors to ensure consistent, high-quality execution.
  • Monitor campaign performance and ROI, translating insights into action.
  • Steward Cara's reputation and visibility across all digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with our Executive Team to bring bold, creative ideas to life that advance our mission and brand.

Who You Are

  • A growth-minded marketing leader with 5+ years of experience driving brand and customer acquisition for multi-site consumer or healthcare brands.
  • Fluent in the language of performance marketing, social strategy, and brand storytelling.
  • Experienced in new unit launches and multi-location campaigns.
  • Both creative and analytical — you can craft a story and measure its impact.
  • Collaborative by nature, with a knack for inspiring others to rally around a shared vision.
  • Organized, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Bonus points if you've worked in veterinary, healthcare, or another mission-driven field.

Our Offer

  • Salary: $120,000 – $150,000 annually (DOE)
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (Medical, Dependent, Commuter)
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • PTO: up to 160 hours/year + 10 hours of birthday PTO
  • Six paid floating holidays
  • 401(k) with 4% match
  • Employee pet care discount (up to four pets)
  • CE reimbursement up to $1,000/year
  • Annual Incentive Bonus Program

Why You'll Love Working Here

At Cara, we don't just care for pets — we care for people, too. Our culture is rooted in authenticity, collaboration, and shaking things up for the better. You'll join a tight-knit leadership team that values creativity, transparency, and results.

This hybrid role offers a blend of office time at our Lower Queen Anne headquarters, on-site visits across our hospital network, and work-from-home flexibility.

Ready to grow something meaningful — and make the world a little better for pets and their people?

Apply today and help us shape the next chapter of Cara Veterinary's story.

Cara Veterinary is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome and celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all team members.

CARA VETERINARY PILLARS

  • Put pets first. Our first priority is always with the health, happiness, and comfort of our patients. We have designed the Cara experience with the animal perspective in mind. And our care advice is based only on what is best for the pet.
  • Trust the parent. We believe that caring for an animal is a partnership built on mutual trust and humility. We trust parents to make the right decisions for themselves and their pets and invite them to actively participate in care alongside us.
  • Authentically human. Caring for a pet involves the full spectrum of emotions, from joy to grief. We must lean into openness, empathy, and compassionate listening.
  • Good neighbors. Although our business is growing, we retain the attitude and spirit of a neighborhood vet. We welcome people in. We get to know our clients' families and are proud to play an active role in our local communities.
  • Shake things up. We are always looking for a better way. In an industry that hasn't seen a lot of innovation, we are experimenting with new ways of delivering care, delighting customers, providing unexpectedly human (and animal) touches, and infusing out hospitals with fresh ideas.
