Senior Specialist of Operations & Project Management

General Description

Centering Healthcare Institute ("CHI") is a non-profit organization that collaborates with healthcare providers across all sectors to transform healthcare. Our mission is to improve health, transform care, and disrupt inequitable systems through the Centering group model. We empower patients, strengthen patient-provider relationships, and build communities through three main components: health assessment, interactive learning, and community building.

We are dedicated to creating a future where the risk of preterm birth, the inequities faced by Black women in pregnancy-related outcomes, and the disparities in early childhood are significantly reduced—ensuring that every child has the potential to enjoy better life chances, social and economic opportunities, and overall well-being. With over two decades of experience as the leading resource for group care, we have developed and sustained the Centering model in nearly 500 practice sites and some of the largest health systems in the world.

The Role

The Senior Specialist of Operations & Project Management plays a critical role in CHI's operational infrastructure by supporting systems implementation, project coordination, and process optimization across departments. This mid-level role combines operational execution, project management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure CHI's internal operations are efficient, data-driven, and aligned with organizational strategy.

This position requires a proactive and analytical professional who is comfortable managing complex workflows, leading small to mid-scale projects, and ensuring operational excellence across multiple workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development, maintenance, and governance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational documentation.
  • Coordinate and monitor organizational projects, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and quality standards are met.
  • Maintain and improve operational systems and dashboards using tools such as , Google Workspace, and FiscalNote.
  • Collaborate with Operations Leadership to identify inefficiencies, recommend process improvements, and implement workflow enhancements.
  • Track compliance, risk mitigation activities, and policy review cycles.
  • Assist in preparing reports, dashboards, and summaries for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Support organization-wide initiatives such as travel processes, procurement workflows, and consultant management.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, training, and organizational events.
  • Support data entry, reconciliation, and accuracy across shared systems and trackers.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

This position reports to the Senior Manager of Operations

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience:

  • Continuous professional development and staying informed about [list relevant areas to be up to date] to ensure the organization operates within legal frameworks and consistent with the best practices in the field, is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Public Health, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in operations, project coordination, or systems management.
  • Proven ability to plan, execute, and manage projects across departments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; experience with , Asana, or similar platforms.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of compliance, governance, and operational risk principles preferred.

Working Conditions

The Senior Specialist of Operations & Project Management operates in a remote office-like environment. While adhering to a standard full-time work schedule, working irregular hours may be necessary. We prioritize adaptability, iterative approaches, and cross-functional collaboration, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Communication: Regular check-ins via [communication tools, e.g., Slack, Zoom, email] are required to maintain alignment, productivity and collaboration.

Productivity: Must be able to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work without direct supervision. This utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and audiovisual systems

Travel: 25% Travel to various locations may be expected for attending conferences, staff meetings and retreats, and any other relevant event.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for the Senior Specialist of Operations & Project Management role is $80,000-$90,000, based on the qualifications and years of relevant experience the selected candidate brings.

Vaccination Requirements

As a condition of employment, each candidate selected for employment will be required to have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination prior to the selected candidate's start date with the Company and be fully vaccinated (as that term may be defined by the CDC) within 30 days from that date, unless approved for an exemption. Proof of at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination will be required prior to the scheduled start date, and proof of full vaccination will be required no later than 30 days after the start date.
