Position Summary
We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Vice President of Engineering to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-scale, cloud-native, data-intensive platforms. This role requires a dynamic leader with a proven track record in cloud engineering, big data, and modern software development practices, with a strong emphasis on AI/ML integration to drive innovation and business value.
What You'll Do
As the Vice President of Engineering, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and delivering the next generation of cloud-native, data-driven, and AI/ML-enabled platforms that power mission-critical systems. You will lead globally distributed engineering teams in building scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions that support the full lifecycle of data—from ingestion and processing to analytics and actionable insights.
You'll drive the development of advanced architectures that integrate big data, streaming, and multi-source data fusion technologies, while also embedding AI/ML capabilities to enhance automation, prediction, and decision-making. Your work will span the full spectrum of modern engineering—from infrastructure and platform services to APIs, user interfaces, and intelligent analytics.
In this role, you will:
- Define and execute the engineering strategy across cloud, data, and AI/ML domains.
- Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable platforms that support real-time data processing and analytics.
- Champion engineering excellence, agile practices, and a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders in Product, Security, DevOps, and Data Science to deliver impactful solutions.
- Mentor and grow a high-performing team of engineers, architects, and technical leaders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards such as NIST/FISMA
Your leadership will directly influence the company's ability to deliver intelligent, resilient, and future-ready systems that support critical missions and drive strategic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and scale high-performing engineering teams across geographies, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Architect and deliver secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-based solutions (AWS/Azure) with a focus on data platforms, APIs, and streaming technologies.
- Drive the adoption and integration of AI/ML capabilities into products and platforms to enhance automation, analytics, and decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, DevOps, Security, and Quality to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
- Define and execute long-term engineering strategies aligned with business goals, including cloud modernization, data architecture, and AI/ML enablement.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks such as NIST/FISMA
- Mentor and develop engineering leaders and technical staff, promoting a growth mindset and technical excellence.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience delivering enterprise SaaS products and platforms in cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
Deep expertise in:
Cloud Technologies: AWS, Azure, Microservices, Kafka
Big Data & Streaming: Databricks, Snowflake, RedShift, EMR, Kinesis
API Development: .NET Core, FastAPI, Apigee
Frontend/UI: React, Angular, JavaScript
Authentication & SSO: Azure AD, OKTA, OneLogin
Search: ElasticSearch, SOLR, OpenSearch
BI Tools: Tableau, Power BI, AWS QuickSight
- Demonstrated experience in AI/ML solution design and implementation, including model development, deployment, and MLOps.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in regulated environments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- US Citizen; Hold or willing to hold a clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; MBA is a plus.
- Certifications in Project Management (PMP), Scrum (CSM), and ITIL.
- Experience working with federal agencies or in highly regulated industries.
