Database Developer

We're looking for a highly skilled database developer to join a highly motivated and passionate team, working on one of Aon's flagship applications. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with data, writing complex SQL, and driving ETL processes. We are a small team of industry professionals with decades of experience in software development. This is a position where you will have a visible impact on the product and its success.

What the Day Will Look Like

• Collaborate daily with team members in a dynamic, agile environment.
• Analyze data requirements and design efficient database solutions.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for Oracle or SQL Server.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure accurate and timely data flow.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment requiring daily communication and knowledge transfer.
• Strong experience (minimum 4–6 years) writing SQL.
• Experience with Oracle PL/SQL or a programming language like C# or Java.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with analytical tools like Knime or Alteryx.
• Experience with Power BI for data visualization.
• Knowledge of ETL principles and/or hands-on ETL development.
• Familiarity with data modeling tools like Power Designer or Erwin.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is [$72500 to $100k] annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
