Location: South Central Regional Medical Center and Clinics with travel to partner hospitals.

Position Summary

The Architect will support South Central Regional Medical Center (SCRMC) and its partner hospitals in the planning, design, and documentation of facility projects. This position will work closely with the Project Engineer to assess, document, and improve the physical infrastructure of all hospital and clinic properties. The Architect will lead efforts to create a comprehensive digital database of all existing structures and floor plans while assisting with ongoing renovation, expansion, and new construction initiatives across the health system.

Key Responsibilities

· Facility Documentation & Database Development

o Develop and maintain a system-wide database of all existing structures, including digital floorplans, elevations, and space utilization records.

o Verify and update as-built drawings and CAD/Revit files for accuracy.

o Organize and standardize naming conventions, file storage, and version control across facilities.

· Design & Planning Support

o Assist the Project Engineer with architectural design concepts, feasibility studies, and schematic layouts for renovations, expansions, and new builds.

o Ensure designs comply with hospital safety codes, ADA standards, infection control requirements, and healthcare facility regulations.

o Prepare space planning diagrams, construction documents, and 3D renderings as needed for internal review and presentation.

· Project Coordination

o Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Plant Operations, Infection Control, Nursing, Administration) and external partners (architectural firms, contractors, and regulatory agencies).

o Participate in project meetings, providing architectural input on scope, design intent, and constructability.

o Support preparation of project specifications, cost estimates, and bid packages.

· Regulatory & Compliance

o Maintain awareness of healthcare facility codes, including NFPA, FGI, and state health department requirements.

o Ensure all architectural documentation aligns with SCRMC's safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Engineering from an accredited program.

· Licensed Architect (preferred) or eligible for licensure in the state of Mississippi.

· 3–5 years of experience in architectural design, preferably in healthcare, commercial, or institutional settings.

· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with Bluebeam and Microsoft 365 tools preferred.

· Strong understanding of building systems, construction methods, and healthcare design principles.

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to perform on-site inspections and field measurements.

· Frequent travel to partner hospitals within the SCRMC system.
