The Director, Performance Marketing leads Window Nation's paid media strategy and execution across all digital advertising channels. This role oversees both internal team members and external agency partners, driving measurable growth through data-driven campaigns while managing substantial advertising budgets. The Director, Performance Marketing is responsible for developing comprehensive paid media strategies that align with business objectives and maximize return on ad spend.

Core Role Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive paid media strategies across multiple platforms, including Google Ads (Search, Display, YouTube, Demand Gen), Bing Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Amazon Prime, Nextdoor, Thumbtack, Angi, and other relevant advertising networks
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of paid media specialists, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities
  • Manage relationships with external advertising agencies and vendors, ensuring alignment with company goals and optimal performance delivery
  • Establish team goals, KPIs, and performance standards; conduct regular one-on-ones and performance reviews with direct reports
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop annual paid media budgets and strategic planning initiatives

Campaign Management & Optimization:
  • Oversee the creation and optimization of PPC campaigns, ad groups, and creative assets across all paid channels, ensuring alignment with marketing objectives and target audience(s)
  • Conduct and direct advanced keyword research and competitive analysis to identify valuable opportunities and improve campaign performance
  • Forecast monthly performance across all channels and manage budget allocations, pacing, and bid strategies to effectively achieve campaign goals
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance across platforms, providing regular reports, actionable insights, and strategic recommendations to maximize ROAS
  • Design and implement A/B testing frameworks and experimentation roadmaps to improve ad copy, ad relevance, landing pages, quality scores, and conversion rates; provide comprehensive post-mortem analyses

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including SEO, CRO, Web Development, and Creative, to (1) ensure campaign to landing page alignment and effectiveness, (2) implement appropriate conversion pixels and tracking solutions, and (3) confirm lead submissions are being captured in Window Nation's CRM (MS Dynamics) with appropriate UTM parameters and attribution data
  • Work closely with the SEO Manager to ensure paid and organic search strategies are complementary and maximize overall search visibility
  • Collaborate with the Conversion Rate Optimization Manager to align paid traffic strategies with landing page testing and optimization initiatives
  • Communicate campaign performance, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders

Industry Expertise & Compliance:
  • Stay current with industry trends, platform algorithm updates, emerging paid media tools and techniques, privacy regulations, and advertising guidelines, ensuring full compliance
  • Evaluate and recommend new advertising platforms, technologies, and partnership opportunities
  • Share knowledge and best practices with the broader marketing team to elevate overall digital marketing capabilities
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in managing paid media campaigns across search, social, display, and video platforms
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership or management role, including direct reports and/or agency management
  • Proven experience managing paid media budgets of $1M+ monthly across multiple channels
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Google Analytics (GA4) and advanced analytics platforms
  • Demonstrated expertise developing, implementing, and managing paid social media campaigns using Meta Business Suite and other social platform ad buying tools (LinkedIn Ads, TikTok Ads, etc.)
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful paid media strategies that drive measurable business results and revenue growth
  • Experience in the home improvement, home services, or related industries
  • Strong knowledge of performance marketing best practices across all major digital advertising platforms, including keyword research, audience targeting, creative optimization, and bid management
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, and other major advertising platforms
  • Deep understanding of attribution modeling, conversion tracking, and marketing analytics
  • Expertise in A/B testing methodologies and conversion rate optimization techniques
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and make data-driven strategic decisions
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, team members, and agency relationships simultaneously
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively across teams
  • Experience with paid video advertising platforms (YouTube, Amazon Prime, CTV, streaming services)Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, and data visualization tools
  • Google Ads and/or Meta Blueprint certifications
  • Experience with marketing attribution platforms and multi-touch attribution modeling
