Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage the check-in and check-out process, including verifying insurance information and updating patient records.
• Collect comprehensive patient intake information, including medical history, current symptoms, and medication lists.
• Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately to support clinical assessments.
• Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures, including specimen collection, wound dressing changes, and basic medication administration under supervision.
• Maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring all patient data is complete and up-to-date.
• Support physicians and nurses with specialized tasks such as X-ray preparation, ICD coding for diagnoses, and basic physiology or anatomy-related procedures when required.
• Manage appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and coordinate referrals to specialists or other departments such as dermatology, urgent care, or hospital medicine.
• Handle administrative duties including answering phones, managing correspondence, processing insurance claims, and maintaining organized medical records.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety protocols in both outpatient clinics and inpatient units like the PICU or Geriatrics wards.
• Assist in emergency situations by supporting vital signs monitoring and providing basic life support (BLS) when necessary.
• Collaborate with hospital staff experienced in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers to facilitate efficient patient flow during critical cases.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or Receptionist in clinical settings such as outpatient clinics or hospital environments.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration procedures.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for accurate documentation and data management.
• Experience working in diverse medical fields including dermatology, urgent care, internal medicine, geriatrics, medical-surgical units, or emergency medicine is highly desirable.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to hospital medicine or emergency response are a plus.
• Ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs accurately and assisting with X-ray procedures when needed.
• Excellent patient service skills with a friendly demeanor that puts patients at ease while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments like Level I Trauma Centers or OR settings.
• Knowledge of hospital protocols related to inpatient care and outpatient services across various specialties including PICU or Geriatrics is advantageous.
