Overview
Mycelium Life empowers growers and wellness retailers with premium cultivations supplies—including substrates, grow kits, genetics, and lab tools—to support sustainable fungal agriculture and functional product development. We serve markets such as hydroponics stores, farm & grow-supply retailers, green grocers, vitamin shops, health & wellness stores, and farmers' markets.
As an SDR for Mycelium Life, you'll be the first point of contact for prospective retail partners in agriculture, wellness, and grow-supply channels. You'll prospect, engage, and qualify new accounts from lead lists—laying the groundwork for sales closers. This is a fast-paced, metrics-driven role ideal for someone confident with cold outreach and passionate about agri-tech, cultivation, and natural product markets.
Job Responsibilities
Outbound Calling:
- Place daily calls to growers, hydroponic retailers, farm supply stores, vitamin shops, and related accounts.
Lead Qualification:
- Discover retailer needs, existing product lines, and fit for Mycelium Life's cultivation & wellness catalog.
CRM Management:
- Log all calls, notes, lead statuses, and follow-up tasks in the CRM with attention to accuracy.
Pipeline Support:
- Pass qualified leads to Account Executives with context, notes, and recommended next steps.
Sales KPIs:
- Meet or exceed weekly goals for dials, conversations, and hand-offs. Track call-to-conversion ratios and lead performance.
Product Knowledge:
- Become fluent with Mycelium Life's catalog—substrates, grow kits, genetics, tools—and articulate how products benefit retailers.
Market Feedback:
- Relay trends, competitor activity, objections, and product demand insights to leadership.
Outreach Collaboration:
- Support email drip campaigns, retargeting, or follow-up sequences as needed.
Transition Support:
- Assist in retailer onboarding to ensure a seamless handoff to operations/fulfillment teams.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years' experience in outbound sales, SDR, telemarketing or similar roles (CPG, agricultural or distribution experience a plus).
- Strong phone presence and ability to engage via cold outreach.
- Comfortable making a high volume of calls daily.
- Experience using a CRM (Pipedrive, HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) and maintaining clean data.
- Self-motivated, goal-driven, and able to thrive under KPI structure.
- Excellent listening and qualifying skills—can quickly identify key decision-makers and buying signals.
- Reliable internet connection, quiet work environment, and remote-work readiness.
Job Responsibilities
Prospecting & Outreach
- Conduct high-volume outbound calls to hydroponic retailers, farm stores, grow shops, wellness stores, and related accounts.
- Identify, engage, and qualify retail prospects based on interest, product fit, and buying behavior.
Lead Qualification
- Assess prospect needs, current product assortment, and alignment with Mycelium Life's cultivation and wellness catalog.
- Ask thoughtful questions to uncover fit and buying behavior.
CRM & Pipeline Management
- Log all call activity, conversations, and outcomes into CRM with detail and accuracy.
- Maintain clean records, schedule follow-ups, and continuously update lead status.
- Ensure a steady pipeline of active prospects by managing outreach cadence.
- Create and manage a growing pipeline of warm leads ready to be converted by Account Executives.
Collaboration with Sales Team
- Handoff qualified leads to Account Executives with thorough notes and context.
- Participate in huddles or debriefs to align on account strategy and insights.
Product & Market Knowledge
- Develop a clear understanding of Mycelium Life's product offerings—including grow kits, substrates, spawn, lab tools, and more.
- Confidently speak to key benefits for retailers, such as shelf appeal, product margins, and consumer trends.
Performance Reporting
- Track your own KPIs (calls, conversions, qualified leads).
- Submit regular updates on lead quality and campaign effectiveness.
- Participate in team meetings and performance reviews.
Continuous Learning
- Provide market insights back to CRO or Sales Management on common objections, competitor pricing, and opportunity trends.
- Suggest improvements to lead generation strategy or call scripting based on feedback.
Collaboration
- Support email campaigns, drip follow-ups, and marketing alignment when needed.
- Attend internal sales huddles and bring forward feedback from prospect conversations.
