Location: Remote (U.S.-based preferred)

Type: Contract (Part-Time or Project-Based)

Duration: 3–6 months (with potential for extension)

Compensation: Competitive base + success-based bonus/commission (negotiable)

About Us

We are a growing garden tools brand focused on high-quality, innovative products for homeowners and outdoor enthusiasts. As we scale, we're looking to break into big box retail—specifically Home Depot, Lowe's, and other national hardware chains.

Role Summary

We're seeking a contract-based Sales Consultant or Broker with proven experience selling into big box retailers (especially Lowe's and Home Depot). You will lead our entry strategy, manage retail buyer outreach, and guide our product presentation and compliance process to get our brand on shelves or listed online.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and connect with relevant buyers at Lowe's, Home Depot, and similar retailers.
  • Provide insights into retailer-specific requirements (pricing, packaging, logistics).
  • Guide us through onboarding steps (vendor setup, EDI, planograms, etc.).
  • Negotiate terms including pricing, margins, co-op marketing, and promotional opportunities.
  • Advise on retail compliance and supply chain readiness.
  • Collaborate on retail sales materials: sell sheets, product decks, samples, etc.
  • Assist with strategy for online listing (e.g., or ) if relevant.

Requirements

  • Proven track record getting consumer products (ideally tools, garden, or home improvement) into big box retail.
  • Existing contacts or relationships with relevant retail buyers is a huge plus.
  • Understanding of retail compliance, EDI, freight, and category management.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results on a contract basis.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with manufacturers' reps or rep groups.
  • Knowledge of retail analytics, sell-through data, and in-store merchandising.
  • Familiarity with related retail platforms (RangeMe, SPS Commerce, etc.).
