Remote, Oregon, United States Kinesity Health Full time $100 - $200 per year

Overview

Applied Fitness Solutions (AFS) is expanding into the healthcare market and is looking for a Technical Product Manager Consultant —equal parts systems thinker, translator, and delivery leader—to accelerate the development and integration of our clinical-grade digital platform, KinScript.

AFS is a purpose-driven healthcare organization advancing lifestyle medicine to help people take back control of their health. Our evidence-based care model is delivered by a collaborative clinical team of Exercise Physiologists, Registered Dietitians, and Board-Certified Health Coaches, elevating these roles as mission-critical healthcare providers who address the root causes of disease through movement, nutrition, and health-behavior change.

AFS exists to restore health with care by returning health ownership and agency to each person we serve. At AFS, we transform the traditional "patient" into the provider of their own healthcare through lifestyle medicine, supported by our clinicians and systems.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this fractional role (approximately 3–5 hours per week) will guide the coordination of our product roadmap, data integrations, and system architecture to ensure interoperability, automation, and measurable health outcomes. This is a fully virtual/remote role. You'll translate business and clinical workflows into clear technical direction, steward vendor and developer partnerships, and ensure HIPAA-compliant, scalable infrastructure across key systems. Your ability to bridge strategy, technology, and clinical impact will be essential to advancing our purpose and digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise and oversee the ongoing design and development of KinScript, ensuring alignment with clinical, operational, and strategic goals.

  • Serve as a bridge between internal stakeholders (clinical, operations, leadership) and external developers.

  • Review and refine product specifications, user stories, and technical documentation to ensure clarity, scalability, and efficiency.

  • Evaluate and manage technology vendors, software partners, and AI/ML collaborators.

  • Provide guidance on system interoperability (Mindbody, InBody, Kinotek, Epic/FHIR, etc.) and ensure data security and integrity.

  • Support development teams in maintaining HIPAA compliance and robust, secure data architecture.

  • Identify opportunities to integrate AI/LLM tools for automation, workflow optimization, and clinical decision support.

  • Support leadership with product roadmap prioritization, milestone tracking, and technical feasibility assessments.

  • Provide periodic progress reports and recommendations to executive management.

Qualifications

Required

  • 7+ years of experience in product management, project management, or technical operations, ideally in health tech, fitness tech, or SaaS.

  • Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, and data systems (not a developer, but technically fluent).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage software development vendors and cross-functional technical projects.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to translate complex workflows into actionable deliverables.

  • Familiarity with HIPAA, data security, and healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7).

Preferred

  • Experience with AI/ML applications or automation in digital health environments.

  • Background in exercise physiology, health coaching, or digital therapeutics.

  • PMP, Scrum Master, or Product Owner certification.

Engagement Details

  • Location: Virtual/Remote (U.S.-based preferred; ability to align to Eastern Time is helpful).

  • Commitment: Approximately 3–5 hours per week (remote with periodic virtual meetings).

  • Engagement Type: Independent contractor

  • Duration: 6–12 months, with potential for renewal or expansion based on project scope.

  • Compensation: $100–$200 per hour, depending on experience and scope of work.

  • Start Date: Within the next 30-45 days.

Job Type: Contract

Base Pay: $ $200.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 – 5 per week

Work Location: Remote
