Position Summary

The Fulfillment and Distribution Manager is responsible for the overall management and day-to-day operations of the fulfillment and distribution department. This role oversees employees, ensures timely and accurate order fulfillment, manages inventory, and maintains operational efficiency. The Manager will also act as a hands-on leader, stepping in to perform fulfillment and distribution tasks when necessary, while continuously identifying opportunities for process improvements and enhanced customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead all fulfillment and distribution staff (currently 2 employees plus temporary associates as required).
  • Ensure all customer orders are fulfilled with accuracy and shipped on schedule.
  • Learn and operate multiple shipping software platforms and the inventory management system.
  • Manage and oversee cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory tracking.
  • Supervise and support product receipt, including verification, storage, and system updates.
  • Step in to perform associate tasks as needed, ensuring smooth workflow during absences or peak periods.
  • Safely operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment when required.
  • Make local deliveries as needed to support customer or company requirements.
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 lbs. regularly.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant warehouse environment, ensuring adherence to safety and code requirements.
  • Act as facilities manager when needed, addressing maintenance, equipment, or building issues.
  • Prepare and manage databases for large or multi-destination shipments.
  • Evaluate existing procedures, recommend updates, and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Work collaboratively with customers, Sales, and Customer Service Representatives to address requirements and resolve issues.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve the customer experience.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in fulfillment, distribution, or warehouse management (leadership experience preferred).
  • Proficiency with shipping software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
  • Current forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Valid driver's license required (for deliveries).
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 30 lbs. as part of daily responsibilities.
