Probate Paralegal

About the Role

Our firm is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Probate Paralegal to join our estate planning and probate team. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely while supporting attorneys in all aspects of probate and estate administration. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple files and deadlines with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and file probate petitions, notices, and other court documents in accordance with state and local rules.
• Draft correspondence, inventories, accountings, and other estate administration documents.
• Communicate with clients, financial institutions, and court personnel in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Maintain accurate probate calendars, deadlines, and case management records.
• Assist with asset collection, valuation, and distribution.
• Coordinate with executors, trustees, and beneficiaries to ensure smooth estate administration.
• Monitor case progress and follow up on required filings or missing documentation.
• Prepare documents for attorney review and signature.
• Support attorneys with additional estate or trust administration tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of probate or estate administration experience required.
• Education: Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of probate procedures and court filing requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency with legal software, case management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and meet strict deadlines while working independently.
• Preferred: Experience with estate planning documents (wills, trusts, powers of attorney) and familiarity with e-filing systems.
