We are actively building out our Western U.S. team and business, and we're seeking a Senior Client Manager with deep expertise in natural energy and mining, particularly in precious metals, uranium, rare metals, and non-power production energy. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in externally focused client development and is excited to help shape our growth in this specialized sector. 

About the Role 

The key to making it work is our Senior Client Managers, who sit at the center of our client development teams. 

The professional selected for this critical role will be externally focused and curious about client needs while also being self-motivated to build internal relationships to form the right teams and solutions that create success for our clients. They will develop and maintain client relationships and implement plans to grow the number and impact of the solutions we deploy in each account. The successful actions of this professional will drive sales growth, which is critical to the firm's mission to provide a gratifying, safe workplace and expand opportunities for our employees. 

What Will You Be Doing at Woodard & Curran? 

The ability to grow and succeed as a firm is a direct function of the external client and business partnerships we cultivate. As such, the Senior Client Manager is responsible foridentifying and understanding client needs and pairing our solutions to create success. This position is highly visible both within and outside the firm. It involves working with large and complex client organizations to address their unmet needs through our deliberate approach to problem-solving and commitment to generating fresh ideas. 

Preferred Locations: Seattle, WA | Denver, CO | Phoenix, AZ | Boise, ID | Houston, TX  

Travel:As needed to support business development and marketing of private sector clients, attendance at conferences and events held by professional organizations, and support business planning and team building events throughout the year. 

Additional Responsibilities Include:
  • Become part of a team focused on growing our Private Sector market share. Annual net sales goals range from $5M to $10M. We will work with you to customize an onboarding plan that helps you reach these goals at tiered levels based on your degree of experience. 
  • Grow client accounts to sell the full suite of services that Woodard & Curran offers. 
  • Provide consultation to clients and project staff. 
  • Prepare written proposals, presentations, and budget quotes. 
  • Negotiate terms of service delivery. 
  • Maintain account relationships to create revenue growth. 
  • Coordinate with our Marketing team to develop offerings and positioning pieces. 
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings. 
  • Work with our project managers, practice leaders, and senior technical staff to scope and develop solutions and ensure our clients' financial relationships are healthy and evolving. 
  • Be externally focused, introducing the benefits of our solutions to the market. 
  • Identify opportunities early to allow time for teams to position for work. 
  • Attend conferences and workshops to strengthen existing relationships, establish new client relationships, and identify emerging technologies and market drivers. 
  • Desire to serve and lead in a deliberate, focused, dynamic team environment. 
  • Coach and develop junior members of the account management team.

What You Need to Succeed:
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in the execution and management in the marketplace. 
  • A bachelor's degree in civil or environmental science/engineering or a related field from an accredited program is preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience selling into multiple executive and plant-level functions within Private Sector clients, including industrial water treatment, remediation/reclamation, engineering, EHS, treatment plant operations, capital project management, and procurement. 
  • Ability to serve as the liaison between the Client and our technical and delivery teams to understand needs. 
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence. 
  • Identify, lead, and participate in business development, bid, and proposal efforts. 
  • Strong desire to grow an organization and the ability to motivate others. 
  • Understanding the business development cycle explicitly related to the consulting business, including opportunity identification, proposal writing and development, and presentation. 
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Ability to travel to client and company facilities up to 60% of the time. 
  • Open to remote work locations, with preference for candidates based in Seattle, Denver, Phoenix, Boise, or Houston. 
$125,000 - $265,000 a year This role has the option for remote work, and the anticipated pay range is flexible, depending on factors such as the employee's primary work location, skills, experience, and education. The following examples illustrate how the pay range for the same role can vary based on different locations.    Group A (MT, ME, FL, ID, AZ) = $125,000 - $190,000  Group B (PA, MA, MO, GA, RI) = $140,000 - $220,000  Group C (CA, NY, Andover-MA, NJ, CO, CT, TX, WA) = $155,000 - $265,000    This position's anticipated pay range is provided; final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will be dependent on experience level, as well as considering a % based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials are used to recognize and reflect the cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
