This is a major investment in the future of data-driven discovery - built to leverage data, knowledge, and prediction to accelerate the discovery of new medicines. We're a full-stack organization spanning product and portfolio leadership, data engineering, infrastructure and DevOps, data/metadata/knowledge platforms, and GenAI/AI/ML, compute, and analytics platforms.
We're looking for an exceptional
Director of AI/ML, Compute, Infra & DevOps Platforms
- a visionary leader with deep technical expertise, strategic insight, and a passion for innovation. In this high-impact role, you'll define the strategy and roadmap for our core developer platforms, empowering teams across research and AI/ML to build, scale, and innovate.
You'll partner with leaders across Research, Portfolio Management, and Engineering to deliver cutting-edge solutions that power large-scale compute, AIML modeling, and GenAI/agent-enabled applications. You'll guide product direction, drive execution, and ensure adoption of world-class platforms by both engineering and scientific users - all while developing a team of talented Product Managers who translate customer needs into actionable product vision.
What You'll Do
- Shape Strategy:
Define and execute the vision for AI/ML, GenAI, Compute/Analytics, Cloud/Physical Infrastructure, and DevOps platforms. - Drive Roadmaps:
Prioritize and plan features based on customer needs, data insights, and business goals. - Launch Impactful Products:
Oversee successful launches with strong communication, documentation, and training. - Measure Success:
Establish KPIs and communicate performance and impact across the organization. - Champion the Platforms:
Serve as the voice and advocate for platform users, driving visibility and engagement. - Lead & Inspire:
Build and mentor a high-performing team of Product Managers focused on innovation and excellence.
What We're Looking For
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years of professional experience
- 2+ years in cloud-based product development or management (GCP preferred)
- Machine Learning & distributed computing with high performance computing (e.g., Slurm, Batch, Weka, MPI, Singularity)
- Deep knowledge of on-prem and cloud computing environments, modern software practices, and leading compute tools/platforms
- Experience managing developer platforms, tools, and services
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tools (e.g., GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proven track record developing and executing product strategies
- Strong analytical skills and customer-first mindset
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
