Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to lead and manage complex construction projects from initiation through completion. This role is ideal for a proactive professional with proven expertise in commercial or infrastructure construction, exceptional organizational skills, and a history of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget. The successful candidate will be responsible for all phases of construction—including planning, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, regulatory compliance, and execution in active operational environments. You will ensure projects are executed with the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency while minimizing impacts to ongoing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and phasing strategies.
- Coordinate with owners, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with operational and regulatory requirements.
- Obtain necessary permits, clearances, and approvals required for construction projects.
- Plan work to minimize disruption to occupants, tenants, and facility operations.
Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with contract and owner requirements.
- Track expenditures, review pay applications, and implement cost-control measures.
- Review and approve change orders, while maintaining transparent reporting with stakeholders.
Leadership & Team Management
- Direct and manage project teams, subcontractors, and on-site personnel in a highly regulated environment.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, security requirements, and access procedures.
- Promote a collaborative and accountable project culture that prioritizes safety and operational continuity.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Conduct regular inspections and ensure strict adherence to project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and turnover processes to ensure projects meet performance criteria.
- Maintain detailed project documentation for audits and regulatory reporting.
Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Provide timely updates, progress reports, and presentations to project stakeholders.
- Quickly resolve conflicts and operational challenges that may impact project delivery.
Risk & Safety Management
- Identify project risks—including operational disruptions, security issues, and environmental factors—and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local safety standards.
- Lead incident reporting, emergency coordination, and safety audits as required.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial or infrastructure construction project management.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and applicable regulations.
- Proficiency with Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, or other construction management and scheduling platforms.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing projects in active, 24/7 operational environments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances or facility access.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Prior experience managing projects in secure or highly regulated environments (government, defense, transportation, healthcare, etc.).
- Familiarity with federal and state procurement processes.
- Experience coordinating work during night shifts or limited operational windows to avoid operational disruption.
