EKC Enterprises, Inc. is hiring for a Level 1 AV Technician.

The Level 1 AV Technician is an entry-level role responsible for assisting in the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio-visual (AV) equipment and systems. This position supports events, meetings, and installations by ensuring that all AV technology functions properly and provides an excellent user experience. The Level 1 Technician works under the guidance of senior technicians or supervisors and is expected to develop technical skills and industry knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup, operation, and breakdown of AV equipment including projectors, microphones, speakers, displays, video conferencing systems, and control systems.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of common AV issues (e.g., connectivity, signal flow, cabling).
  • Support live events, meetings, and presentations by ensuring equipment functions properly throughout.
  • Handle routine maintenance, testing, and inventory management of AV equipment.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for system use and equipment handling.
  • Assist senior technicians with AV system installations, cable pulls, terminations, and equipment mounting.
  • Provide customer service to end-users, ensuring professionalism and clear communication.
  • Document setups, issues, and resolutions for reference and reporting.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company policies during all technical work.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications a plus).
  • Basic knowledge of AV systems, signal flow, and equipment operation.
  • Familiarity with video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams, Webex, etc.).
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in varied environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by event schedules.

Preferred Skills (Not Required but Beneficial)

  • Experience with AV control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX).
  • Knowledge of networking basics (IP addressing, switching, routing).
  • Prior customer service or help desk experience.
  • Industry certifications (CTS, Dante, etc.).

Work Environment

  • Event venues, conference rooms, classrooms, or corporate offices.
  • Combination of on-site support, installation work, and occasional travel.
  • Fast-paced, hands-on role requiring adaptability.
