Clinical Product Manager
We're seeking a Clinical Product Manager to bridge the gap between
cutting-edge AI technology and real-world clinical workflows. You'll
translate frontline healthcare needs into product requirements, ensure our
AI tools solve genuine problems, and drive adoption within hospital
systems. This role requires deep clinical expertise combined with product
thinking.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Development
- Partner with engineering to define product roadmap based on clinical
priorities and workflow pain points
- Translate clinical needs into clear product requirements and user
stories
- Conduct user research with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff
to identify unmet needs
- Design and validate product features through rapid prototyping and
clinical pilot programs
Clinical Workflow Integration
- Map existing hospital workflows to identify where AI can reduce
administrative burden
- Ensure product designs align with clinical best practices and patient
safety standards
- Develop implementation playbooks for deploying AI tools within diverse
hospital environments
- Anticipate and address workflow disruption during product rollout
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the voice of clinicians to the engineering team and voice of
the product to healthcare stakeholders
- Build relationships with clinical champions at partner hospitals
- Present product vision and demos to hospital administrators, IT teams,
and clinical leadership
- Gather and synthesize feedback from multiple clinical specialties
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure product development adheres to HIPAA, patient safety, and medical
device regulations
- Collaborate with compliance team on documentation for clinical
validation
- Identify potential clinical risks and mitigation strategies
Required Qualifications
Clinical Background
- Active clinical license (RN, NP, PA, MD/DO) with 3+ years of direct
patient care experience
- Deep understanding of hospital operations, EHR systems, and clinical
documentation workflows
- Experience working in settings where administrative burden is high (ED,
ICU, primary care, etc.)
Product Experience
- 1-2+ years in product management, clinical informatics, or healthcare
operations improvement
- Track record of identifying workflow inefficiencies and implementing
solutions
- Experience gathering requirements from diverse stakeholders and
prioritizing features
Technical Fluency
- Comfortable working with engineering teams (don't need to code, but
should understand AI/ML capabilities and limitations)
- Experience with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.) and understanding of
data flows
- Ability to evaluate technical feasibility of clinical use cases
Communication & Leadership
- Exceptional ability to translate between clinical and technical
languages
- Proven stakeholder management across clinical, administrative, and
technical teams
- Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration in a startup environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical informatics certification
or master's degree (MPH, MHA, MBA)
-
Experience with AI/ML applications
in healthcare settings
-
Prior startup experience
or demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset
- Experience with
speech recognition or ambient documentation tools
(Nuance, Suki, Abridge, etc.)
- Understanding of hospital contracting and procurement processes
- Background in quality improvement methodologies
(Lean, Six Sigma)
- Network of clinical contacts who could serve as early adopters/advisors
What We Offer
- Equity stake
in an early-stage, venture-backed healthcare AI company
- Opportunity to
shape product direction
from the ground up
- Direct impact on
reducing clinician burnout
and improving patient care
- Work with
cutting-edge AI technology
(LLMs, RAG, speech recognition)
- Flexible hybrid work environment
- Competitive salary + benefits
Ideal Candidate Profile
You're a clinician who's frustrated by how much time healthcare workers
spend on documentation instead of patient care. You've probably thought
"there has to be a better way" hundreds of times during your shifts.
You're excited by AI's potential but skeptical of solutions built by
people who've never worked a clinical shift. You want to ensure AI tools
actually help rather than create new problems. You're ready to leave (or
reduce) clinical practice to build solutions at scale.
