Job Summary

The Food Manufacturing Scheduler is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing daily and weekly production schedules in alignment with customer demand, available resources, and operational priorities. Working closely with the Production Planner and Operations Manager, this role ensures that production runs are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with company goals for quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to align daily and weekly production runs with the master plan.
  • Develop, update, and communicate daily and weekly production schedules in collaboration with the Production Planner and Operations Manager.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address changes in demand, raw material availability, staffing, or equipment issues.
  • Analyze production capacity, lead times, and constraints to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.
  • Partner with procurement to ensure raw material availability matches production needs.
  • Work cross-functionally with procurement, warehousing, and quality assurance to ensure schedules align with material availability, storage capacity, and compliance requirements.
  • Track performance against the schedule, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline scheduling processes and improve efficiency.
  • Provide timely communication of schedule changes to production teams and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in production scheduling, planning, or coordination within food manufacturing or a similar regulated industry.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and production workflows.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed scheduling decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multiple departments.
  • Ability to work under pressure, adapt to change, and manage competing priorities.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based with frequent interaction on the production floor.
  • Must adhere to all food safety and GMP requirements.
  • Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required based on production needs.
