Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Developer to join our company, Mockingbird Food Group. We are a rapidly-growing food manufacturing company with ambitious goals to introduce automation and AI-generated insights into our business. We do not have an in-house IT team today, so this is an opportunity for the right candidate to take full ownership of our technology platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both front-end and back-end development, with experience in various programming languages, cloud platforms, AI platforms, Machine Learning, LLMs, and modern development methodologies.

Duties

  • Design, develop, and maintain web applications using technologies such as JavaScript, React, Express, and Ruby on Rails.
  • Build and optimize RESTful APIs for seamless integration across platforms.
  • Develop robust back-end systems utilizing Java, C#, Python, C++, and .NET frameworks.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure deployments on AWS and Azure, ensuring high availability and security.
  • Collaborate within an Agile environment to deliver iterative improvements and new features efficiently.
  • Leverage AI platforms and technologies such as Claude Code to augment workload and introduce automation into the business, particularly around integration with cameras for object recognition, counting, tracking, etc.
  • Interface with PLC programmers to integrate with IoT sensors and controls for full end-to-end automation all the way to the plant floor.
  • Maintain version control using tools like Git, GitHub, and SVN.
  • Work with databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, and other relational databases to design efficient data models.
  • Implement security best practices including RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Contribute to front-end development focusing on user experience, responsiveness, and performance optimization.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure code quality standards are met.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams including IT infrastructure specialists to support deployment on cloud platforms like Linux servers.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in full-stack web development with proficiency in both front-end (JavaScript, React) and back-end (Ruby on Rails, Java, C#, Python) technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud services such as AWS and Azure for application deployment and management.
  • Hands-on experience with RESTful API design, integration, and security protocols.
  • Familiarity with version control systems including Git and SVN.
  • Knowledge of database management systems like MySQL and SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, IoT sensors, and other typical industrial controls.
  • Experience working within an Agile development environment with continuous integration practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting while managing multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices, including testing, documentation, and code review processes.
  • Additional skills such as familiarity with Quantum engineering, VBA, or other programming languages (C++, C) are considered advantageous but not mandatory.
