K-5 Math Tutor

About the Role:

As a K–5 Math Tutor at Braintrust Tutors, you'll help young learners build essential number sense and problem-solving skills through engaging, targeted instruction delivered in a school setting. Using our structured intervention materials, you'll provide high-quality support that drives measurable student growth.

Tutoring Details:

  • Start Date - End of September/Early October
  • 12-week tutoring assignment
  • School Hours - Days and times to be determined
  • 3 days a week
  • 45-minute sessions/small group

What You Will Do:

  • Provide in-person, small-group or 1:1 math tutoring to K-5 school students during the school day or after school

  • Implement Braintrust's intervention programs as designed, using all materials with fidelity

  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic performance
  • Collaborate with the Braintrust Operations team and school staff to support student growth
  • Foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment that promotes focus and confidence

  • Follow school-site procedures and policies while maintaining a professional and dependable presence

  • Use provided assessments and progress monitoring tools for understanding to guide instruction

  • Manage time effectively during sessions to complete all planned instructional activities

What You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
  • Active or expired teaching license
  • Knowledge of math instruction that builds number sense, procedural fluency, and problem-solving skills, with a scope and sequence ranging from counting to multi-digit arithmetic, including decimals and fractions.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Comfort navigating a school environment and collaborating with teachers and staff
  • Punctuality, professionalism, and reliability for all scheduled sessions
  • Passion for literacy and closing opportunity gaps
