Location: Bergen County, NJ - Hybrid Position (3 days in the office)

Position Summary:

Azureon is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our growing team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing and managing payroll operations for employees accurately and in compliance with company policies and federal and state regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, attention to detail, and the ability to ensure timely and accurate payroll execution. The ideal candidate will manage complex payroll tasks, including those related to acquisitions and implementations, and will be fully proficient with ADP Workforce Now.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: Process and manage weekly, bi-weekly payroll for all company employees, including regular pay, overtime, bonuses, and special adjustments. Validate payroll data, including hours worked, deductions, and taxes, prior to processing.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure payroll operations comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations (e.g., overtime laws, wage-hour laws, etc.). Stay informed about changes in tax rates, labor laws, and payroll guidelines to implement appropriate updates.
  • Employee Support: Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries, discrepancies, and concerns from employees in a detail-oriented and timely manner. Educate employees on payroll processes, deductions, tax withholdings, and benefit contributions.
  • Payroll System Management: Maintain and update payroll information within HRIS or payroll systems, specifically ADP Workforce. Ensure system data integrity by regularly auditing employee records and payroll reports.
  • Reporting and Reconciliation: Generate and distribute payroll reports, including tax filings, wage and hour summaries, and other related records. Reconcile payroll accounts and ensure adjustments are made for discrepancies in collaboration with the Finance & Accounting team.
  • Year-End Processing: Assist in year-end reporting activities, including W-2 preparation, distribution, and filing. Ensure timely handling of tax-related tasks and records.
  • Assist with the implementation and integration of payroll systems during company acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with HR-Recruiting department to ensure seamless payroll operations and other tasks/duties.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in ADP payroll processing.
  • Full proficiency with ADP Workforce is required.
  • Experience with company acquisitions and implementations from a payroll perspective (a plus).
  • Strong understanding of payroll best practices and compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is required.
