The Director of Rooms serves as a key member of the hotel's executive leadership team, overseeing all aspects of the Rooms Division, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and Concierge operations. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of service and presentation while driving performance, efficiency, and team engagement. The ideal candidate is an inspiring, hands-on leader who combines operational excellence with emotional intelligence—someone who leads by example, fosters a culture of accountability, and ensures every guest encounter reflects the hotel's commitment to exceptional hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and day-to-day leadership across all Rooms Division departments, ensuring flawless guest experiences and operational excellence.
- Maintain a visible and engaged presence throughout the hotel to support staff, connect with guests, and uphold service standards.
- Develop, implement, and monitor departmental goals, budgets, and performance metrics aligned with the hotel's strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and Executive Committee to optimize profitability, guest satisfaction, and brand reputation.
- Recruit, train, and mentor department heads and team members to deliver world-class service and maintain a culture of empowerment and professionalism.
- Analyze guest feedback, market trends, and operational reports to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Partner with the Director of Engineering and Director of Housekeeping to maintain the highest levels of cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation throughout the property.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and security regulations.
- Serve as an ambassador of the hotel's values and vision, setting the tone for service culture and guest engagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 5–7 years of progressive Rooms Division leadership experience in a luxury or lifestyle hotel environment.
- Proven track record in enhancing guest satisfaction, optimizing operations, and leading high-performing teams.
- Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
- Strong proficiency with PMS, RMS, and CRM systems (Opera or similar preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to lead with authenticity, empathy, and strategic insight.
- Experience within independent or boutique luxury hotels and familiarity with the Nashville market is strongly preferred.
