Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Associate Director of Development on behalf of a well-established community nonprofit dedicated to housing, neighborhood revitalization, and disaster recovery. This full-time role is based onsite in Houston, TX.

Position Overview
We are seeking a collaborative and strategic Associate Director of Development to help expand and strengthen fundraising efforts for a mission-driven organization. This role is ideal for a development professional who thrives on building relationships, managing a team, and crafting compelling stories that inspire giving. The Associate Director will directly support the growth of diverse revenue streams and play a key leadership role in advancing the mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and execute fundraising strategies to achieve annual revenue goals.
  • Manage and coach assigned fundraising staff, fostering professional growth and retention.
  • Serve as lead relationship manager for a portfolio of institutional donors and funding partners.
  • Develop and submit compelling proposals, reports, and stewardship materials.
  • Partner across departments to align funding opportunities with organizational priorities.
  • Represent the organization at community, donor, and volunteer events.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising, including donor cultivation and stewardship.
  • Experience managing staff and leading development teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive donor materials.
  • Proficiency with donor database systems, i.e. Salesforce, Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Collaborative, organized, and adaptable with a commitment to inclusivity and mission alignment.

Compensation And Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary range of $90-105K, commensurate with experience, along with a full benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, retirement contributions, and professional development support.
