We are seeking a highly motivated, customer-oriented Linux Systems Engineerto join our team. This person will manage, maintain, and optimize our Linux-based infrastructure. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of servers across on-premises and cloud environments.

To be considered for this position, US Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance is required. This is a funded position and is contingent upon verification of a security clearance prior to starting with Cloudshape.

Primary Duties Include but Are Not Limited To:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, SUSE).
  • Monitor system performance, apply patches, and ensure security compliance.
  • Automate tasks using Bash, Python, or configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Support cloud infrastructure and virtualization platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI, VMware, KVM).
  • Troubleshoot system, network, and application issues; perform root cause analysis.
  • Maintain system documentation, generate reports, and contribute to knowledge bases.
  • Enforce security best practices and participate in audits or compliance initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • 2 - 5 years of experience
  • An ability to work independently, multi-task, and communicate effectively will be required for this role.
  • US Citizen with an active Secret security clearance
  • Strong knowledge of networking, security and server virtualization
  • Experience with automation/configuration management tools and scripting
