Gas South is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Government & Regulatory Affairs Program Manager. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, representing our company at industry events, and advocating for our products and services. You will be responsible for researching and ensuring compliance with regulatory rules. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, an understanding of government affairs, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Additional Responsibilities
- Represent Gas South with executive and legislative branches of government, regulatory agencies, industry associations, issue coalitions, community groups, and other key stakeholders. Attend pertinent events, meetings, and fundraisers on behalf of the company.
- Attend Atlanta MSA area chamber meetings to build relationships and identify opportunities for business development.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including elected officials, community leaders, and business owners.
- Assist in lobbying efforts at the Georgia State Capitol.
- Represent Gas South at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
- Advocate for our products and services to key decision-makers, and work to influence public policy decisions that impact our business.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop leads and create new business opportunities.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, competitive activity, and legislative changes that could impact our business.
- Research regulatory rules applicable to our business to ensure compliance in all states in which we do business.
- Assist Sr. Manager of Government Affairs at the Georgia Public Service Commission with filings, responses and rate cases.
- Coordinate, prepare and review regulatory submissions in our geographic footprint.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Political Science, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in government affairs, business development, or related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of government affairs and the legislative process.

Location Requirements
Atlanta, GA; Travel to and attend external events
Physical Requirements
Sitting: Ability to sit for extended periods at a desk or workstation while performing computer-based tasks and collaborating with colleagues.
Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and copiers.
Keyboarding: Ability to enter text or data into a computer by means of a traditional keyboard and mouse, requiring finger dexterity and hand coordination.
Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk within the office environment, such as when attending meetings, interacting with colleagues, or visiting different departments. Ability to stand during receptions.
Driving: Ability to drive to the office 2-3 days per week and to offsite meetings, events, and conferences as needed. Travel to other out-of-state office (GA or FL) 1-4 times per year. Some evening and weekend work required for external events.
Requires visual and auditory acuity for effective communication, document review, and use of office technology.
Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry material, files, or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds, such as when organizing documents or setting up for meetings. Ability to reach for items stored in cabinets or shelves, both above and below shoulder height.
Ability to work in typical office conditions, which may include exposure to noise, artificial lighting, and climate-controlled environments.
