Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly responsible and motivated ReStore Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our Habitat ReStore. This is a leadership role for a hands-on individual who is ready to take on significant responsibility. You will be instrumental in helping us meet our fundraising goals by ensuring the store runs smoothly, efficiently, and profitably. This role is perfect for someone who can manage multiple priorities, lead a team with a positive attitude, and is deeply committed to our mission of building homes, communities, and hope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the on-site leader in the absence of the ReStore Director, making sound decisions to ensure continued operations.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized shopping environment for customers and a productive workspace for staff.
Donation Management & Sales:
- Manage the donation process from receipt to sales floor. This includes coordinating with donation drop-offs, assessing the quality and value of donated items, and ensuring all donations are processed efficiently.
- Train staff and volunteers on donation intake procedures and proper item valuation.
- Implement effective pricing strategies to maximize revenue from donated goods.
- Ensure all items are properly priced, tagged, and entered into the point-of-sale (POS) system before being placed on the sales floor.
- Overseeing and managing the warehouse inventory and flow into the sales floor
- Work with the Director to monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- Assist with inventory control and merchandising to ensure high-quality, sellable items are consistently available.
Customer & Donor Relations:
- Provide exceptional customer service, handling escalated customer issues or complaints with professionalism and a positive resolution.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with donors, ensuring a smooth and respectful donation process.
- Educate customers and donors about the mission of Habitat for Humanity and the impact of their support.
Financial & Team Development:
- Hire and oversee team of donation pick up drivers and warehouse volunteers
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and huddles to communicate goals
E-commerce and Marketing:
- E-commerce management & revenue generations: Directly oversee and execute all online sales platforms, including product photography, accurate listing creation and coordinating internal logistics for successful fulfillment and customer pickup.
- Digital Content & Engagement Strategy: Develop, create and deploy dynamic content across all social media channels to actively promote new arrivals, sales, and the ReStore mission to drive local awareness, foot traffic to the physical store.
- Work with the Director on Performance Tracking and Optimization: Monitor key digital metrics (conversion rates, engagement, ad performance) and report results to the Director, constantly adjusting online pricing and content strategy to maximize revenue and inventory turnover.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in retail management, including supervising staff and managing store operations.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Direct experience with inventory management and point-of-sale (POS) systems, including item entry and reporting.
- Experience with pricing and merchandising strategies.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to delegate tasks effectively and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs), and perform other physical tasks.
- Valid Drivers License
